金 - Gold
Well, it’s that time of the day again. The
king is
doing the splits while wearing solid
gold horns atop his head.
Ever since he bested the legendary golden bull of Olsgard, he’s been showing off his new treasure (as well as his treasured flexibility) on a daily basis.
Grade: 1
Strokes: 8
JLPT Level: N5
Readings: キン, コン, かね
If this is composed of the king, why are the horizontal bars not the same length in gold?

There are many kanji that are like this, which is due to the fact most of these stories and parts are made up by us and have no connection to the original meaning in Japanese. We could’ve separated this out into other pieces to make it match the actual writing but figured this was a fun and memorable story compared to what it could’ve been with, say, doing the splits, two, pot lid, horns, and one, for example.
