耳 - Ear
This is sort of a stretch, but let’s try to see this as a pictogram of an ear. It’s more misshapen than 目 (eye), which is true in both reality and this kanji, so you could use that to help keep these kanji distinct. There are also many different curves in human ears, as well as the many lines that make up this kanji.
